Our second year of Read for NES will kick off on Monday, February 28th! During this 2-week read-a-thon, we are encouraging our students to continue reading while earning money to further support our teachers and school! We have a number of fun events planned throughout the read-a-thon to make this another fun and memorable event for all our students!  We are hoping to receive over $12,000 in pledges to support our teachers, staff, and students in many ways including:

• Provide technology & remote learning curriculum support
• Provide in-school enrichment programs & field trips
• Provide teachers & staff with reimbursement for classroom materials 
• Raise funds to host NES community events and celebrations

The PTA is so excited to bring back one of our favorite annual events – the Halloween Party! Please save the date for Friday, October 29th from 5:00 – 6:30 pm for a fun and safe outdoor celebration! The NES PTA is a collective of dedicated families, teachers, community members & school staff that work together to create and support programs and activities that benefit all students. This has been a year unlike any other and the NES PTA has put together some fun and easy ways to show our teachers and staff how much we appreciate them during National Teacher Appreciation Week (May 3rd-May 7th).  Ways you can help:

NES Night at Pomodori: Wednesday, April 14th! Please mark your calendars for NES night at Pomodori in Newburyport. Pomodori will donate 15% of the day’s sales to the NES PTA on Wednesday, April 14th. You must bring in a physical copy of the flier in order to activate the donation (electronic copies will not be accepted). Look for the flier coming home in your student’s backpack early next week! Flier can also be printed below. Enjoy!

Saturday December 19, 2020 – 3:30 – 4:15 p.m – Newbury Elementary School 

• Cars will enter at the main entrance, drive slowly and wave to Santa & his elves.
• Please do not exit your car.
• Decorated cars are encouraged!
• Drive by on your way to the Triton PTA Celebration of Lights scavenger hunt!

The teachers and staff at NES have been working tirelessly this fall and the PTA Is assembling holiday gift bags to show our appreciation. We need your help to spread some holiday cheer this year! The PTA has created an Amazon Wish List of items needed to create and fill these special gift bags to distribute to staff and teachers.

We would love to get as many Salisbury/SES & PGS/Rowley & Newbury/NES families to take part! Once we have everyone registered, we will send out a list of addresses and a scavenger hunt form.

The Book Fair is coming to NES virtually this November! Supporting a love for reading is critical to student success. Explore our online book fair and help your child find their next favorite book. The book fair will run from November 9-20.

Follett will ship your books to the school after our eFair is complete. Books will be delivered to students at NES.  Arrangements for parents to pick up books for remote learners can be made at the end of the fair.
