In support of C.A.R.E.S. and cultural enrichment at Newbury Elementary School, the PTA is pleased to present BARYNYA, a program of Russian traditional dancing, singing, and music.  The show includes the Dancing Bear Mascot as well as Ukrainian, Gypsy, Jewish and Russian music and dance.  Live music will be performed on the accordion-garmoshka, guitar and balalaika and performers will showcase several traditional costumes with many costume changes.  Students will participate in a short Russian dance as well as a Russian alphabet lesson.  Parents are welcome to attend!
