Be a PTA Member:

You can become a PTA member online at PTA Membership or via a paper form available in the school office. Membership is $20 per family or $10 per individual and includes membership at NES plus in the state and national PTAs.

Volunteer as a Leader, Committee Member, or Event Staffer: We invite you to be an active part of our PTA in a way that best suits you, your time schedule, and your family.

Helping the PTA supports school wide goals and initiatives, and allows you a chance to feel more connected to your child and the school. Involvement in the PTA gives you an opportunity to learn more about the school, staff, events, and community.

We have had many parents and staff already volunteer to take on roles this year. We still need people to coordinate our fall art fundraiser (instructions exist), organize the new Teacher Wish List, and be a co-chair of the book fair. We also need extra help with graphic design. We also welcome help on any and all of our other efforts from committee members. Email newburyptainfo@gmail.com for more information. We will send out staffing needs close to events via the newsletter and Facebook.

And, while we have a great board of officers this year, we want to start grooming next year’s board members early. We’ve simplified our operations, and hope the next wave of leaders can step forward to take over the PTA without much effort. Have an interest? Email us to learn more.

Participate in Fundraisers: The PTA will offer a new fundraiser this fall: students’ artwork on a variety of items from Silver Graphics,  http://www.silvergraphics.com, with delivery before the holidays. Our largest fundraiser of the year is the Family Spring Fling and Silent Auction on March 27. Plan now to help find auction items, attend, and bid! We will also host smaller events like the Penny Challenge and Walkathon, plus we will have special evenings at area restaurants where our PTA receives a portion of sales

Donate Money: We are in our second year of having an Annual Fund to accept donations. They can be used for general PTA use, or earmarked for a specific effort. Last year’s donations ranged from $10 to a $12,000 anonymous donation used to purchase and install swings on the playground. Attend a Meeting: We have three general meetings planned, and will offer childcare for students in kindergarten and older. We also have monthly board meetings.

 Come to the Coffee House: Come meet other parents and guardians at the first PTA Coffee House of the year. It will be on Friday, Sept. 26th, 8:30-10 am in the school’s Story Room. Younger children are welcome to accompany you. This is a time to just relax, get questions answered, and maybe make a new friend.

Join NES Grows: The PTA’s NES Grows committee has been enhancing the outdoor experiences of our students. This summer they coordinated the installation of the new swings, and maintained the vegetable gardens and a rain garden (with the help of the Kids Club Summer Camp). The group is expanding their efforts; stay tuned for some exciting news!

Save Box Tops and Labels for Education: See a list of all products that earn our school cash and equipment at Box Tops and Labels for Education. Ask your relatives and co-workers to save them, too. Send the Box Tops and Label UPCs to school—there is a collection bin in the front lobby.

Register for Store Reward Programs: Target, Stop and Shop, and Amazon Smiles will donate a portion of your purchases to our PTA. Register your cards and accounts today.
