The NES Parent Teacher Association is a group of parents, teachers, administration and staff who plan events, raise money, and supply the school with the “extras”. This year’s budget is about $40,000, which means we are spending almost $80 per NES student to enhance their education and experience.
Our efforts this year will focus on goals set by our members: supply technology, provide student enrichment opportunities, support our teachers, and enhance the outdoor grounds at NES. This school year we are proud to have already:
- Funded a cart of new Chromebook computers for the school
- Arranged for the installation of the new swings that were made possible through an anonymous donation to our Annual Fund
- Provided each teacher and specialist with a grant of $200 and $150, respectively, to purchase innovative items for their classrooms.
Additionally, we offer additional funding throughout the year for curriculum support. New students and staff will receive school spirit t-shirts and everyone will enjoy assemblies and field trips. The sixth grade environmental camp is partially funded by PTA. And, there will also be low or no cost family events, movie nights, and parent/guardian social events.
