PTA Walk-A-Thon on Friday, June 6

The NES PTA is proud to announce our seventh annual PTA Walk-a-Thon on Friday, June 6. This is our last fundraiser of the year. We have two goals for this event:

Encourage students to be active

Raise funds for technology at NES

On the day of the Walk-a-thon, students will walk a marked course on school grounds with adult supervision. All students are encouraged to walk or run at their own pace and enjoy themselves while working together for the good of the school.

Walk-a-thon sponsors pledge a flat amount to support your child’s participation and school in this event. The money raised will be used to purchase laptops and a mobile charging cart for use in classrooms at NES.

We need your help in three ways:

  1. Please help your child obtain sponsors.  You can call or email friends and family to ask for their support.  As always, door-to-door solicitation of sponsors is strictly forbidden. If you would like to provide a letter for your potential sponsors, please refer to the attached Sponsor Letter. Our goal is for each student to receive $30 in sponsorships.
  1. Please  submit the sponsorship form and all monies in an envelope marked “PTA Walk-A-Thon” by Friday, June 6, to your child’s teacher. Checks should be made out to “NES PTA”.  If your sponsor prefers to send a check directly, ask that they use the main address (63 Hanover Street, Newbury, MA 01951) and mark the envelope “NES PTA Walk-a-thon”.  Additionally, credit card donations may be made online at http://www.newburypta.com.
  1. Come out on the day of the PTA Walk-A-Thon to cheer on your child and their classmates during their recess time or help as a volunteer.  Please sign up at www.newburyta.com to volunteer.

All participating students will receive a wrist band donated by the Greater Boston Running Company in Newburyport. The ten students who raise the most money will be entered into a drawing to win three gift certificates to local merchants.
