The Student Council, Charlie Labella, and Michelle Walsh sincerely thank the NES community for their contributions to make our “Together We Gather” Thanksgiving basket project a success.
With your cash and food donations, 76 baskets were made. Almost 50 students, teachers, parents and grandparents helped in the assembly and decorating of the baskets. We thank the families who contributed, including the anonymous donors who gave 300 pounds of potatoes and 200 pounds of fresh carrots. These baskets are being donated to area families in need via the Pettengill House. Additionally, food donations were sent to the Community Food Pantry in Byfield and the Newbury Senior Center.
We also received and packaged toiletry bags containing soap, shampoo, deodorant, lotion, toothpaste, toothpaste, and combs. These bags will be distributed by Pettengill House.
The next food drive will be in January or February to address the post-holiday need.
If any one has any questions please email Michelle Walsh at Mwalsh9@msn.com or Charlie labella at Clabella@trsd.net.
