Help the Student Council organize Thanksgiving baskets that will be given to clients of Pettengill House, Newbury Senior Center, and Community Food Pantry in Byfield.
Each student is asked to make a $2 donation to pay for turkeys. In addition, we ask for the following donations:
Pre-School: 1 can of fruit, 1 can of peas
Kindergarten: 2 cake mixes per child
First Grade: 2 boxes/bags of stuffing per child
Second Grade: 2 boxes of instant potatoes per child
Third Grade: 2 containers of frosting
Fourth Grade: 1 can of corn, 1 can of fruit
Fifth Grade: 2 cans of cranberry sauce per child
Sixth Grade: 2 cans/jars of turkey gravy per child
Please send food donations in by Wednesday, November 13. Send all cash donations in an envelope marked for Michelle Walsh and give it to your child’s teacher.
Volunteers will meet on Thursday, November 14, to decorate and fill the baskets in the NES cafeteria from 3:00 pm to 4:15 pm. Anyone interested in helping fill the baskets can contact Student Council Advisor Charlie Labella at clabella@trsd.net. You must have a signed permission slip to participate. If you have any questions, please contact Michelle Walsh at mwalsh9@msn.com.
The Pettengill House can also use the following items: Cereal, juice, juice boxes, peanut butter, jelly, rice and pasta sides, canned meats (tuna and chicken) macaroni and cheese, boxed pasta, spaghetti sauce, canned Soups and stew, canned vegetables and fruits, canned pasta (Spaghetti O’s & Ravioli), shelf-stable milk (Parmalat)
